Exhibition Relational Routes III at Galería Lucía Mendoza
Presentation of the work of Lara Salous and the TEJA network at Galería Lucía Mendoza.
The talks, exhibitions, meals, concerts, and readings organized by TEJA and in collaboration with different spaces and institutions are a key element of the experience for the creators participating in the residencies. They also serve as spaces for dialogue, ensuring freedom of expression regarding the conflicts or emergency situations faced by the creators in residence or those affecting the territories they come from.

Palestinian artist and filmmaker Shuruq Harb screened two of her works: The Jump and The White Elephant. Her work offers a reflection on freedom and identity in times of perpetual political conflict.
This event features the screening of films by Shuruq Harb, Shereen Abdel-Karim Hassanein, and Lara Salous — three multidisciplinary Palestinian artists who are part of the Tadafuq project.
The screening is followed by a conversation between Harb and Salous, joined by Sara Buraya Boned (Museo Reina Sofía), discussing their experiences as Palestinian women artists from a feminist perspective, with a focus on the possibilities of raising awareness about the Palestinian cause through their artistic production.
Lara Salous presents seven works — three installations and four videos — five of them previously unseen. All of the pieces are conceptual works addressing the vertical and horizontal violence exerted on Palestinian land and identity.
The exhibition’s title, We Became the Land, comes from a phrase often repeated by the Palestinian shepherds she has worked with.
Resident artist Shuruq Harb presented her work in the studio where she carried out her residency at Casa de Velázquez.
This edition of Situated Voices takes place within the framework of the program Encounters of Critical Thought.
